FOOTBALL – THE CHAMPIONSHIP

After League 1 and League 2 got underway last weekend, it is time for the Championship to get underway with Birmingham’s match with Ipswich the curtain raiser on Friday evening. The Tractor Boys are 14/5 to plough their way to the title with Southampton 5/1, and new boys Birmingham priced up at 7/1.

Sheffield United are the pick of our partner clubs in the Championship promotion odds at 9/4, with Norwich City at 4/1.

In terms of the weekend action Birmingham, are 7/5 to beat Ipswich on the opening night. Saturday’s televised game sees Southampton installed as 4/6 favourites to beat newly promoted Wrexham, who are 15/4 to win on their long-awaited return to the second tier.

Meanwhile, Leicester City are favoured 2.15-2.35 to overcome Sheffield Wednesday in our Supremacy football spread betting market.

GOLF – ST JUDE CHAMPIONSHIP

The opening event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs gets underway on Thursday at TPC Southwind, and it is far from surprising to see a certain Mr Scottie Scheffler at the top of the betting at 3/1. It will be the first outing for the New Jersey native since his success at Portrush, and he is undoubtedly the man to beat.

With 69 of the top players in the world, Viktor Hovland has attracted plenty of interest in the betting, and the Norwegian has been consistently impressive on the Tour this year. Southwind is one of his favourite courses and at 28/1, he will attract some each way punts, with 1/5 odds on offer for finishing in the top 6.

British interest comes in the form of Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrell Hatton, who are both chalked up as 22/1 shots, with Wolverhampton’s Aaron Rai at 30/1.
